Rodrigo was born in Henan, China in 1979. He graduated from Henan University of Education. Over the next few years, he worked at several art-related endeavors while developing his skills as a professional artist. In 2003 Rodrigo entered his first major art exhibit held in Hong Kong. By the next year he had won first place in the Beijing Art Expo. Rodrigo formed his current theme of nature scenes using a very heavily textured painting technique. This method causes an almost third-dimension of beauty in his artwork.
